About Our Church
Youth

The Omak Presbyterian Church, under the direction of Lance O'Dell, has an active and thriving youth program. We have a variety of youth fellowship opportunities, besides our regularly scheduled Sunday school classes, for various age groups. The following information includes times and more specific details for each:

High School Youth Group: Our high school group meets regularly through out the year on Sunday evenings, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A typical meeting consists of three parts. First, a time of fellowship in which we play games geared towards getting to know one another; second, an interactive bible study and prayer time; and third, more games. Anyone from 9th grade to 12th grade is welcome to attend.

Middle School Youth Group: Our middle school group meets regularly through the school year on Wednesday evenings. During the early Fall and Spring we start at 7:30 pm. During the late Fall and Winter we start at 7:00 pm. Usually the time change corresponds with Daylight Savings time. We end promptly at 8:45 pm. During the summer months our schedule is not as regular due to the wide variety of summer youth activities. A typical meeting consists of a 15 to 30 minute bible study and prayer time, followed by refreshments and games. This group is open to anyone from 6th grade to 8th grade.

Wednesday Morning Breakfast: During the school year we have a weekly joint fellowship breakfast for our high school and middle school students. The breakfast basically includes doughnuts, juice, a short message, and prayer. We start at 7:30 am and finish promptly at 7:45 am. The basic rule of thumb is, any Wednesday in which there is school, there will be a breakfast. This meeting is open to anyone from 6th grade on up.

3rd, 4th, and 5th grade ministry: During the school year we try to meet once a month with this age group. The days and times we meet vary from month to month. If you are interested in this ministry please contact Lance for the next date. During the summer we hire a youth intern who works primarily with this age group. The youth intern works directly with Lance in creating a youth group type experience. This means that they meet once a week and model their meetings after the high school and middle school meetings. This is a 10 week period, usually starting in mid June.

Summer Activities: Summer is always a busy time for our youth, with lots of activities planned. Around the 2nd or 3rd week of July we always have a Vacation Bible School. The last week of July our high school group attends Creation, a four day Christian Music festival held in the Gorge. Around the 2nd or 3rd week of August our high school group heads into the wilderness for a week long backpacking trip. Our summers are also full of weekend retreats, day trips, and many other fun activities.
