CHURCH NEWS January 6 , 2008

There will be NO first Sunday of the month potluck dinner today.  We will be having it instead on the 21st at for our Annual Congregational Meeting.  A-M   bring a dessert

There will be a brief Body Life Committee meeting Jan. 14th right after church in the church library.

Session members – Be sure to pick up your agenda and other materials in your boxes before the session meeting on Tuesday.

Mission Committee meeting on Wed., Jan. 10th at 5:00 pm.

A new Sunday School class for parents of young children will begin Jan. 14th by Jess and Vicky O’Dell in the church library.  This will be a class of teaching and fellowship to get to know one another better.  The book being used is Be a Great Parent, by Dr. H. Norman Wright.  A book is not required for the class, but if you’d like one please write “Book” on the Friendship Register.  This class will be held from 9:30-10:30 am for approx. ten weeks.  Cost of the book is app. $12.

WE NEED FUN TALENT!  On Jan. 20th (Sat.) at 6:30 pm we will have a dessert followed by our “Nontalent Show”.  If you have a humorous skit, song, etc, please sign up on the Friendship Register or talk to Polly (422-3941) soon!

Praise the Lord!! Because of your faithfulness in prayers and giving, we ended 2006 in the black  with around $3500 over our expenses for the year. 

Our Christmas Joy offering was $1,180. 

An Invitation for Membership -If you’ve found our church to be a church home for your faith journey, you are invited to attend a membership class to consider joining this church.  Our pastor will be offering a class this month for those interested.  We’ll pick a time that will hopefully work for everyone once we know who is interested.  So please call the church, talk to Pastor Ken, or sign the church Friendship Register-“Membership” soon if interested.
