Cookies are needed for Coffee Fellowship. If you like to bake here is your chance. Just place the cookies in a freezer bag with the date made on it and put in the kitchen. They will be put in the correct freezer. Thank you!
Coffee Fellowship – The deacons have begun using disposable cups to make the clean-up easier for those serving. (Not only do the dishwashers have to be loaded, but someone has to come back and put away all the cups and glasses). If you still want to have a regular cup, we will still have a few available.
Projectionists needed – We could use a couple more people to run the projector on Sunday mornings on a monthly rotation. A basic knowledge of Power Point would be helpful. We will have a training session. Sign-up on the Friendship Register or talk to Rick Werner, Chair of Worship Committee (or Phyllis).
November 4th, today, will be our 9th (or 10th) annual flag football event. Middle school students and high school students are welcome along with big and/or little brothers and sisters, moms and dads, aunts and uncles. What is the age limit? All ages are welcome, but read on. Even though it is “flag” football, it is still football so it can be rough at times, and it is geared towards the middle and high school age group. Please keep that in mind when trying to decide if your younger children should be allowed to attend. We will play at South Field and the tentative start time will be 2:00 in the afternoon.
Operation Christmas Child
Operation Christmas Child is one way you can make a difference in a young person’s life. This Samaritan’s Purse project has shared the Good New of God’s love with hurting children through the simplest of gifts-shoe boxes. Filled with school supplies, toys, and personal items that are packed by caring people, these boxes help introduce children to Jesus Christ. Local believers follow up with evangelistic programs, and many boys and girls later receive Jesus as their Savior. You will be amazed to see how God can use a small gift-your gift- to touch a child’s heart. Brochures are located on the table in front of the office. You will need one of these brochures to help you to know what you can and can not put in the boxes and how to pack them.
The Food Bank is very much in need of food. If you have some canned, boxed or bagged food (not out dated foods) that you would like to give, please bring them to the church and put them in the basket by the table next to the office. It would be appreciated. Thank you!
Our church has a Prayer Chain for emergency needs. Within minutes we can have a network of prayer warriors praying in an emergency. We would like to reorganize or revise the Prayer Chain. If you’d like to join the prayer chain or be removed from it, please contact the office within the next couple of weeks. Most people on the prayer chain have just two phone calls to make in passing on the prayer request.
Stewardship Sunday will be on November 11th, next Sunday, this year! On that date you will have an opportunity to place your sealed pledge envelope in a special offering plate located in the narthex. In the meantime, if you have questions about giving, Pastor Ken’s article “God’s Plan For Giving” (a blue sheet) is excellent in helping to understand giving from the Biblical standpoint. It is available on the welcome center for your review. If you have further questions, please contact Stewardship chair, Paul Freese or Pastor Ken.
