CALLING ALL RINGERS!!!  Now That fall schedules are lining up, it is time to assess our lives to see if ringing handbells is an avenue of Christian service you would like to pursue.  We are beginning the process of calling all ringers from the near or distant past, and any persons who have expressed an interest in trying the art of ringing.  In our calls, we will be asking each person to express a preference on a practice day of the week and time of day for practice.  This will enable planners to choose the day and time which is workable for the largest number of ringers.  If you wish to be called, please contact the church office, 826-1290, or Marian McClanahan, 826-1386, or Dawn Larson, 826-4179.
Requirements are: Love of Christ, enjoyment of music and minimal knowledge of the rudiments of music reading – counting, note names, etc.

MEMBERSHIP CLASS  - If you've found this to be your church home and would like to become a member, the pastor will be having a membership class beginning next Sunday in the Memorial Parlor, Sept. 23rd, 4 pm.  The second class is then tentatively planned for Oct. 7th.  Please let Pastor Ken know if you're interested – or if you're interested but these dates won't work.  You're welcome to attend just for information.  After the two classes you can decide upon membership.  You may sign-up on the friendship register.

MARRIAGE ENCOUNTER: Elope for a Weekend!
Marriage Encounter weekend is a chance for you as a husband and wife to come away from the pressures, hurriedness, and routine of everyday living, and concentrate on each other.  It is for couples who recognize that good marriages don't "just happen"; good marriages require time alone together, away from distractions, where the two of you can focus on your relationship. Whether you've been married five years or fifty, you can find new meaning and deepened love in your Marriage Encounter.  It is November 2nd-4th, 2007 in Leavenworth, Washington. Brochures and registration information are on the table by the office.   Space is limited – register soon.

 Polly and Ken will be away most of this week on a short vacation.  They will be back for next Sunday.

Small Groups: One of the best ways to keep ourselves growing in the faith is through participating in a small group Bible Study.  Groups will begin in October.  But, we need you to begin signing up now.  Also, we need host homes.  Please sign on the Friendship Register – "Groups" or "host Home". 

DIVORCE RECOVERY CLASS
Our church is going to begin a Divorce Recovery Class for women of the community.
 HOW YOU CAN HELP THIS MINISTRY:

1. If you know a woman who has recently been divorced, invite them to this class.  All women, churched and un-churched are welcome.  (You might offer to go to the first class with her.)
2. PRAY.  We need specific people who will promise to pray faithfully for this ministry.
3. Volunteer to help once, twice or more for childcare.

If you are willing to pray or baby-sit, please call the church office as well. (Randi and Sandee want to know they are being supported by much prayer.)

The church family is invited to attend Matt Kraske's Eagle Scout Court of Honor Sept. 23rd, 3pm here at the church.
