CHURCH NEWS July 22, 2007

Sign up for  a Pastoral Visit – As Ken mentioned in the newsletter, he and Polly would like to do some "just checking in" kind of visits this summer.  Each week we'll have available times at the Welcome Center with a sign-up sheet. We have just two requests:

• If you can have us come in the daytime, please do and  leave the evening slots for those who work during the day.
• No refreshments please. As much as we love good food, we are constantly struggling to keep our weight down and if we have two or three appointments a day with dessert at each one,we’ll“explode!”

If you made a meal for the Hiller's while they were here your dishes are in the kitchen.

Next Sunday –

• Sermon – "Be Alert!" – I Thess. 5:1-11, 8th in our Thess. series.

Praise for rain stopping Tunk Creek fire

Please pray for the high school youth group this week. Lance will be taking eight teenagers to Creation Christian Music Festival 2007 in the Gorge Thurs. – Sat.   Please pray for Matt Kraske, Caleb Brooks, Karl Schmidt, Andrew Schmidt, Kara Smith, Erin Dienst, Bryan Werner, and Rachel Kraske.  We will leave Thursday morning and be back Saturday night.  Cornerstone's youth group will also be traveling with us in the Blue Angel and camping with us so keep them in your prayers as well.  We still have room so if there is anyone else that is interested in going I need to hear from you as soon as possible.

"Prayer Cards" which have been in the pew pockets are now on the table by the office. These can be used to get a prayer request to the pastor for the church's intercessory prayers Sunday morning.  After filling it out, give it to the usher before worship begins.

The Birthday Lists are being updated.  If we haven't put your name in the newsletter and don't mind it being put in please let us know when your birthday is.  We don't want to miss anyone.  Thank you!
