CHURCH NEWS May 27, 2007

Today we begin our summer schedule with the Worship service and Sunday school at the same time, 9:30.  The youth (k-4th grade) are to stay in Worship until the indicated time to leave during the set of worship songs.

The Church office will be CLOSED on Monday do to Memorial Day.

There will be a Body Life Committee Meeting following church service on June 3rd.

Have you reflected on the long history of our Church, organized on Aug. 22, 1907 as the Presbyterian Community Church in Omak? The last seven pages of the Centennial Calendar give us a glimpse of the early beginnings of God’s emphasis in the Okanogan Valley.  In the narthex are the remainders of the first 100 calendars available for a suggested donation of $5.

Joe and Carol Miller would like to invite you to a Barbeque on June 9th to welcome Aaron and Leticia (Aaron’s fiancé).  The barbeque is at the Miller’s starting at 3 pm.  They are barbequing chicken and burgers and would like you to bring a small side dish.  RSVP 422-0256 or email, cm@miller-familly.com.

Do you know of a graduate whether high school or college that is part of our church family in some way?  Please let Lance know or the church office so we can honor them.  Thank you.

REFRESH is here, June 9th at 3:00 pm.  Refresh is a Christian Concert which serves to benefit local organizations and others in need.   This concert is at an outdoor venue called “Aspen Sage Amphitheater” which is up Chewuch Rd about 3 miles North of Winthrop. This year Refresh will help out a local artist and his family in Okanogan County, Dave Boman, to raise money so they can move to South Africa as a missionary for a year.  There are many attractions this year so come and have a Christian good time.  Tickets are available at Hometown Pizzas and Tonasket Pizza Company, $8 presale and & $10 at the door.

There are Book Marks with all the Missions we have supported on the Welcome Center for you to take in honor of our Centennial.

The Community Prayer service is here at Omak Pres. Church on Tuesday, May 29th at 7:00 pm.  Please come and pray for our community.

AWAKE Omak -  Crusade is coming June 12-15 at the Stampede Arena, 7 p.m. each night.  Jason Gillick, with New Bread Ministries is the evangelist.  For those who want to help with this, there is a training event, Sat. June 2 at 9:30 a.m. at Manfisher Ministries.  Please sign-up on the Orange sheet in the narthex if you plan to attend – also take  one of the information cards.
