CHURCH NEWS May 13 , 2007

There will be a Worship Committee meeting after worship next Sunday, May 20th in the library.

Our Apple Springs service is today at 2:30 pm.

We will be handing out CareNet Baby Bottles today for the Bottles of Love Fundraiser.  The money goes to the center to help women and their families during pregnancy.  You are to bring them back filled with money, Father’s Day, Sunday, June 17th. Thanks for your support.

SPRING CLEANING?  Do you have things (clothing, books, furniture, etc..)  you would like to get rid of?   Josiah Ingram is having a yard sale here at the church parking lot on this Saturday, May 19th to help with his Mission trip to New York.  If you would like to donate to the yard sale bring your donations to the church and put them in the nursery by Thursday night.  Thank you!

Have you reflected on the long history of our Church, organized on Aug. 22, 1907 as the Presbyterian Community Church in Omak? The last seven pages of the Centennial Calendar give us a glimpse of the early beginnings of God’s emphasis in the Okanogan Valley.  In the narthex are the remainders of the first 100 calendars available for a suggested donation of $5.

VBS - (July 9-13) We need volunteers to help in a wide range of areas.  Here’s some info on each area and how or where you might be able to fit in. Crafts:  My mom, Carol O’Dell, with help from Rosa Pederson, has agreed to be in charge of crafts again this year.  They need volunteers to assist them the week of VBS.  We need someone in charge of snacks,
and recreation.  We also need group guides.  Group guides are simply people that will take their group of kids from one station to the next and then stay and help out in that station.  Group guides will not be required to teach. They will help keep the kids on task at the various stations, they will help kids stay focused in worship and assembly times, and they will make sure their group of kids reaches each station safely and in time. We would like to have two group guides per group of kids. Let us know if you would like to help.

Tall Timber Construction Projects.
Several projects are planned for this summer where volunteers are most helpful.  There is an e-mail from Jim Caulkins on the table by the office describing some of these.  Pick one up if you might be interested.
