Orlyn and Carol Michelsen would like to thank you for all the prayers, cards, visits and other acts of kindness while Orlyn was in the hospital.

Have you reflected on the long history of our Church, organized on Aug. 22, 1907 as the Presbyterian Community Church in Omak? The last seven pages of the Centennial Calendar give us a glimpse of the early beginnings of God’s emphasis in the Okanogan Valley.  In the narthex are the remainder of the first 100 calendars available for a suggested donation of $5.

“The Presbyterian Women of Okanogan will serve their last Turketti Luncheon on May 10th (Thursday) from 11:00 to 1:00 at the Okanogan Senior Center.  Tickets are $6, and children under 12 years are $3.  the proceeds will benefit their mission outreach for this Centennial year in their city.  Everyone is welcome!”

VBS -  (July 9-13) We need volunteers to help in a wide range of areas.  Here’s some info on each area and how or where you might be able to fit in. Crafts:  My mom, Carol O’Dell, with help from Rosa Pederson, has agreed to be in charge of crafts again this year.  They need volunteers to assist them the week of VBS.  We need someone in charge of snacks,
and recreation.  We also need group guides.  Group guides are simply people that will take their group of kids from one station to the next and then stay and help out in that station.  Group guides will not be required to teach.  They will help keep the kids on task at the various stations, they will help kids stay focused in worship and assembly times, and they will make sure their group of kids reaches each station safely and in time.  We would like to have two group guides per group of kids.  Let us know if you would like to help.

Bonnie Marriott is starting a choir at the Omak Senior Citizens Center to be called “The Goodies”.  If any of our Church family members are interested, call Bonnie for more information, 826-3087.

The Centennial Committee meets Wednesday, May 9th at 1:00 pm in the library.  We welcome additional help and suggestions as we plan for this celebration in August.
