CHURCH NEWS November 12, 2006

Today is Stewardship Sunday! As each of us reflects on the many gifts God has given us this past year, let us prayerfully place our sealed, self addressed pledge envelopes into the offering plate.  If you have not yet decided on your gift to Him in 2007 of your time, talents and treasure, ask God what would please Him in your giving,  then, it’s time to surrender all your thoughts and concerns about your giving to God in prayer.  Seek His guidance, then obey Him.  Please write your pledge on either the card enclosed with the November Newsletter or one available on the table outside the office, then seal it in the envelope provided and address it to yourself.  Bring the sealed envelope to worship, and place it in the offering plate.  Or, if you wish, you may mail your pledge to the church – PO Box 826, Omak, WA  98841-0826 – or leave it at the office.  Remember, your commitment is strictly between you and God.  No one else will see your card.

If you have questions about giving, Pastor Ken’s article “God’s Plan For Giving” (a blue sheet) is excellent in helping to understand giving from the Biblical viewpoint.  It is available on the welcome center for your review, or will be mailed to you upon request.  Additional information and extra pledge cards are also available on the table outside the office.  If you have further questions, please contact Stewardship chair, Paul Freese or Pastor Ken.  Thank you for your faithfulness.

“Be generous and you will be prosperous.  Help others and you will be helped." Proverbs 11:25  TEV

Today is our annual flag football game. Like always we will meet at South Field, (the track across from the clinic) at 2:00pm.  Dress warm, and be prepared to play, rain, sun, sleet, or snow.

Today we provide a worship service at Apple Springs at 2:30.  It always helps to have members of the church join us for this ½ hour service.

Community Thanksgiving Eve service will be hosted by Omak’s First Baptist Church (620 W. Ridge Dr.), Nov. 22 at 7:00 p.m. Our Pastor will be speaking. A number of churches in Okanogan, Omak, and Riverside are coming together to participate in this service of thanksgiving.

Body Life Committee meeting next Sunday, Nov. 19th, right after the service in the Library.

This week is the last meeting of our Biblical Application Study Groups. These groups won’t be meeting from Thanksgiving week through Christmas.

The Food Bank is a local mission we support through food we bring to place in the basket in the foyer.  We have moved the basket around the corner to the table by the office.

Memorial Flags - Frances Tritle has presented the church with a new American Flag for the front of the Sanctuary as well as one for outside in memory of her husband, Francis. Both flags were showing their age.  Thank you, Frances.
