CHURCH NEWS October 22, 2006

On Saturday, Nov. 4th at 6 p.m. will be our catered Harvest Dinner.  The entertainment which begins at 7:30 is Lonnie Good and his younger daughter in a free concert of Christian music.  The cost of the Prime Rib/Salmon meal including a 5 layer strawberry cake is $10.  We need to collect that money ahead, so please sign-up and pay in the foyer right after church.

The food bank is having a Cookbook sale fund raiser.  The Food Bank Cookbook costs $8.00.  Please see Thelma Marlatt if you are interested in buying one.

Our Presbytery (Central Washington) carries on many vital ministries through their mission budget of $141,000.  This is funded entirely by pledges from churches.  This year they are $16,000 short of that.  This morning, we are joining other churches in our Presbytery in a special offering.  The offering plate is on the Welcome Table.  Checks should be made payable to the First Presbyterian Church.

Moms in Touch (MIT), moms praying for their children, will start Monday, Nov. 6th, 11am-12pm @ the First Presbyterian Church.

Main dishes are always welcome, though one main dish is provided by Body Life, for which we receive donations.  We need as many people as possible to bring the salads and desserts.  Sometimes we’ve run short.
