CHURCH NEWS October 8, 2006

This Saturday, Oct. 14- A Classy Tea Party for Women of the church and their guests at noon. There will be wonderful tea, food and entertainment. Bring a friend and have a great time in fellowship with other women.  If you would like to attend please sign-up “Tea” on the Friendship Register.

Mark your calendar for November 4th as the night for our catered Harvest Dinner (price & details coming soon) with our Non-Talent Show for entertainment.  Please, if you have a humorous skit, poem, song or act, contact Polly soon.  She needs to get the show planned and some talent scout might be there to discover you!  So don’t hesitate.  Help us have a fun-filled evening.

Our church will be providing the Manfisher meal this month on Sunday, Oct. 15th.  With the menu of chili-burgers, vegetable trays, cookies and milk. We are giving you the opportunity to join in helping by providing carrot sticks, celery sticks, red & green peppers, cauliflower and broccoli floret’s, pickles, olives and chips.  Please let us know by Friday, Oct. 13th how you wish to help by calling Arlene at 422-2327.  This “once a month meal” that our church provides is one of the local missions of our church and we welcome all that feel God’s call to serve Him in this endeavor.  Manfisher also has a small food pantry that provides for people in need.  Easy fix foods like soups, micro foods, peanut butter, jelly, tuna, instant potatoes, and crackers, etc. are very useful.  People housed in motels and small apartments often have only a microwave or hot plate to heat food.  These items can be left in the Food Basket at the entry as we work closely with the Food Bank to help those in need.
