CHURCH NEWS September 17, 2006

Our Fun Tennis Outing, is today (you can come and just cheer) from 3-5 pm at the North Cascade Athletic Club. It will be $2 a person for the cost of the tennis balls. A potluck will follow at Ron and Randi DeHaan’s home.  (Hamburgers provided.)

This is your last chance to sign–up for pictures for the directory.  We would love to have you in there so please pick a day and sign-up. Those who have already signed up, remember your photography date.  The Dates are Sept. 19, 20, 21 from 3-9 pm all 3 days.

The Community Prayer meeting will be held here at our church on the 26th of September at 7:00 pm. Please come and pray for our community.

Pastor Ken and Polly will be at the Annual Presbytery Pastor’s Retreat at Tall Timber this evening through Tuesday.  Gary Thomas, author of several books (Sacred Marriage, Sacred Parenting, etc..) will be the leader.

Oct. 14- A Classy Tea Party for Women of the church and their guests at noon. There will be wonderful tea, food and entertainment. Bring a friend and have a great time in fellowship with other women.  We need some ladies to sign-up for a few different committees: decorations, food, set-up, clean-up, worship, programs.  Sandee Freese will be at a table in the narthex after the service for sign-ups.

Friendly reminder to parents:  the musical instruments at the front or the church; drums, guitars, piano, as well as the microphones and altar decorations are all fragile and can break rather easily.  Please help us by reminding one another and your children that those are not things to play with.

The Presbytery Women’s meeting and luncheon is on September 26th at noon at the Okanogan Presbyterian church.  Edna May Hinger will be playing the Accordion.  All are welcome to attend.

At Session on 9/12/06 it was decided that our church will again use a Faith Budget in planning 2007 expenses.  This type of budget has worked well for the church in the past three years that it has been used, and has been well received by the church family.   More details will appear in the Stewardship Report section of the October Newsletter.

Volunteers are needed for Coffee Fellowship.  If you would like to serve God in this way, sign-up on the Friendship Register.  Also, goodies are still needed.  Please bring them in a sealed freezer bag with the date they were baked on the bag. Store bought goods are also welcome.
